Experienced Confectionist – The Coffee House Bakery (Warrington)

Since our journey began in 2011, The Coffee House has flourished into a thriving enterprise, with our Warehouse, Production Kitchen, and Bakery proudly supplying over 30 stores and counting. We are excited to announce that our central facilities have recently moved to a brand-new, state-of-the-art premises in Warrington, and we are on the lookout for an experienced Confectionist to join our talented team who hold a collective of 130 years experience.

At The Coffee House, quality is our hallmark. Our signature products—like our delectable teacakes and indulgent honeycomb tiffin—are crafted with care by our skilled artisans every day. Our bakery features cutting-edge equipment, including our innovative BDM Machine and a newly installed chocolate temperer, empowering our perfectionists to consistently achieve the highest quality in every creation.

This position requires a commitment of five days a week over seven days, within the hours of 9 AM to 6 PM.

Key Responsibilities

This role is to assist in the production of high quality and large volumes of baked products for our stores across the North of England. Using ingredients which are sourced from local and independent suppliers who support the local economy but also ensure we receive fresh, high quality produce.

You must be able to work well under pressure, produce work to the highest of standards and have an eye for detail and quality.

Health and Safety is paramount, and must be adhered to at all times.

You will be responsible for all in house baking of our sweet products.

Your customer base is our Store Managers and their customers. Proactively respond to feedback regarding products ensuring there is continuous improvement.

Inspecting bakery items to ensure that established standards on quality, uniformity and aesthetic appeal.

Liaising with the warehouse and central kitchen and with support of the production manager agree to the daily output levels to meet the needs of the business.

Responsible for safe food preparation and service, the correct storage & labelling of ingredients and produce bakery goods to the recipe specifications provided.

To be a good communicator within the business.

Maintain the highest standards of hygiene, both personally and professionally.

To use all equipment and machinery safely and maintain it in good condition.

To use all the systems, policies and processes set out by the company.

To record all relevant checks and information on our Safety Culture system.

To open and close the bakery by following all guidelines set out.

The person:

A proven track record of baking and confectionery.

Preferable qualifications in baking, pastry or culinary arts.

Qualifications in food safety and hygiene.

A team player

Sound knowledge of different baking techniques.

Ability to work under pressure.

Outstanding problem solving skills.

Excellent communication skills.
