The Company

There is an opportunity to join an exciting business who began its story in 2011 in a small village in Cheshire. Two brothers had a strong vision to change the way people eat, drink and relax. When they opened their first coffee house they made great coffee and served a simple menu made from local produce. Today, the Coffee House is established in 12 communities serving thousands of people every week with a substantial range of products and exemplary customer service. It’s mission is to be the leading independent coffee operator in the North of England which it has achieved with another 8 stores due to come onboard in 2023.

To support this mission, we have a great central team to support our teams on the frontline. This team is at the heart of our operations to develop, manufacture and deliver all of what we create, many of which are crafted in house.

The Role

We are now looking for a talented and motivated Warehouse Manager. You'll fully manage the daily operations including order fulfilment, stock control, purchasing, processes and systems in order to ensure goods are received and dispatched appropriately and targets are met and become a vital part of the supply chain process. Supervising a small team of warehouse operatives and drivers and communicating with various levels of management in order to contribute to our overall company vision and objectives.

You must have experience in all aspects of warehousing, Health & Safety and being a people manager. As the position is currently very hands-on, we are seeking a candidate who is capable of carrying out physical work.

Responsibilities

· Managing the picking, packing & despatching of various products (Variant, fridge and freezer) to supply our rapidly growing number of stores across the North of England ensuring accuracy is paramount

· Continuously looking to improve all warehouse processes and procedures to deliver the best quality service to our stores and ensuring the processes are being followed by all staff.

· Meeting KPI targets and producing monthly reports

· Conducting regular stock takes, receiving goods and ensuring stock inventories and locations are accurate.

· Assisting the lead purchaser with all aspects of the purchasing function, helping reduce overall supply chain costs, increase efficiency, and manage supplier relationships. Maintaining our stock system ensuring that supplier stock lists are current and new suppliers are onboarded into our process.

. Own and manage the Health and Safety and coordinating the servicing of the various operational vehicles including a 7.5 tonne vehicle. Ensuring that the Drivers are safe and keeping compliant.

· General housekeeping and ensuring the warehouse is safe, clean and tidy at all times and compliant with the 5S methodology.

· Supervise, manage and motivate employees by leading by example, recruiting for vacancies and setting rotas, ensuring there is suitable cover in all events.

· Own, develop and train new starters into the warehouse.

· Setting objectives, conducting performance reviews in line with our performance management process on a regular basis.

· Driving a 3.5 ton or 7.5 ton van as and when required

· Responsible for all warehouse health and safety, including compliance, risk assessments and continuous training.

· Build a positive and proactive relationship with other key members of the Operations and Central Teams.

· We are committed to servicing our stores daily 363 days of year, therefore we are looking for an individual who is flexible, can use their initiative and work autonomously as well as part of a team.

· Reliability is key, this is a fundamental role, our stores rely on the deliveries being delivered accurately every night and it is the role of the Warehouse Manager to ensure that this is completed daily to a high standard of accuracy.

Requirements

A minimum 2 years previous management experience within a warehouse/logistics company

Full clean manual driving license

Possession of a C1 license is ideal (holders of licenses before 1997 would already hold the required permissions)

Excellent organisational skills, time management skills and a ‘can do’ attitude

Have a keen eye for detail, and be able to take responsibility for tasks using their own initiative

Proven, strong management skills

Good IT skills

Self-motivated, flexible to work extra hours, various shifts as and when the business requires

Hours – 40 hours a week working 5 out of 7 days so this can include weekend work. Core hours 10am - 4pm, then the outstanding hours are to meet the needs of the business. Flexibility needed to sporadically cover the driving nightshift (till 2am) only when covering sickness.
