The Role

Overall responsibility to continuously evaluate current suppliers and seek new suppliers to ensure that quality, reliability and profit are maintained.

  • Develop and Implement the purchasing strategy for the business
  • To prepare for and negotiate contracts at the most commercially competitive terms.
  • Evaluate supplier performance based on price, quality and delivery speed using KPI’s
  • Build and maintain relationships with the key suppliers, whilst seeking new suppliers to remain cost effective
  • Have good understanding of rebates and pricing in the hospitality industry
  • Report on market trends and analysis to stakeholders
  • Responsible for the stock management system, working closely with the Facilities Manager
  • Responsible for securing the best purchasing price on a wide range of consumables; refrigerated and freezer goods to increase profitability.
  • Securing the best purchasing price for large store equipment, supporting store openings ensuring timings are met.
  • Strong collaboration with the Business Development and Central Production team, to understand items required for new product launches
  • In collaboration with Business Development, manage the seasonal calendar and forecasting
  • Manage and maintain all aspects of our stock systems
  • Supplier onboarding, contracts, price changes, renewals, integration into systems to hand over to operations. Manage terminations of suppliers, delisting suppliers and products.

Requirements

  • Previous strong experience in buying within the food and hospitality industry
  • A relevant degree in Business Studies, Economics or similar
  • Preferably (although not necessary) a member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply
  • Demonstrate experience of modern purchasing techniques
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Computer literate with experience of working with multiple systems.

Head Office is currently located in Irlam, due to move to Warrington mid 2022.

Part time role, hours are flexible. Flexible working, work from the office, from our stores or from home.
